Apple’s OS X 10.10 Yosemite software introduced so many new features that users will still be trying to learn them several months after installing the update. In fact, there’s a hidden paint program on your Mac computer that has been sitting right under your nose this whole time, and a recent pose will show you how easy it is to find.

As Dave Winer recently pointed out on Scripting News (via The Loop), Apple’s Preview app has somewhat hidden paint function that most users have no idea is there.
Winer’s instructions for accessing the paint functions in Apple’s Preview app include a few extra steps, wo we’ll amend them here.
All you have to do is open any image file on your computer in Preview (if Preview isn’t your default app for image files, simply right-click on a file, hover over “Open With,” and then select “Preview.app”).
Then in the top menu in Preview, you’ll see a toolbox icon. Just click it and you’re ready to go.
The paint functions in Preview aren’t exactly on par with something like Photoshop, but there are plenty of simple tools for quick edits and markups. There is even a nifty signature function that lets you digitally sign documents using your laptop’s trackpad or a Magic Trackpad.
Paintbrush Editor's Review
Paintbrush is a Cocoa-based paint program for Mac OS X.Since Mac OS X doesn’t have any paint program like Microsoft Paint, paintbrush may be the answer.
Paintbrush brings the Microsoft Paint functionality into Mac OS X. The first thing that appears when you open it is a dimension worksheet. You can chose between the default presets or customize your own.

There are a few differences between Microsoft Paint and Paintbrush like the 'bomb' option that erases everything you did on the worksheet. And the supported files extensions are: 'png', 'jpeg', 'gif', 'bmp' and 'tiff'. The default file format when you save a file is 'png'. Also you have some image flipping options, horizontally and vertically. The possibility to paste an image from clipboard, or drag and drop it, isn't a Paintbrush feature.
The font editor can be a little tricky, the options aren't like in Paint, you will find them in the application menu under the name tools. In my tests I tried the keyboard shortcuts for zoom inout, and it didn't work as it should. A 'check for updates on startup' kept coming instead of zooming. For zooming you will have to use the mouse.
Pluses:
Drawbacks / flaws: the possibility to paste, or paste from clipboard images isn't a Paintbrush feature.
In conclusion:
